Before planting Veritas City in Washington, D.C., Greg served at Foothills Church, a church plant in Knoxville, TN, as an elder and the family ministries pastor, overseeing the crib through college life-stage teams.
Under his leadership at FC, the student ministry team witnessed a tremendous response growing from 6 teenagers to over 400 teenagers and 100+ volunteers in his 6-years. The kids ministry team at FC under his leadership developed 3 different life-stage ministries and oversaw 150+ volunteers and hundreds of families. During his tenure at Foothills Church, Greg started the local and global missions ministries (which saw 100+ serve overseas during his time), as well as the hospitality ministries of the church.
Alongside of planting Veritas City, Greg serves the church at large through his teaching, writing, and coaching.
Concerning his teaching, Greg speaks all over the country preaching at churches, hosting weekenders and trainings, speaking at conferences, various other events, and has been featured as a keynote speaker at major conferences throughout the country.
Greg’s writing at this point has been geared toward the family, and he is the author of:
- Date Different: A Short (but real) Conversation on Dating, Sex & Marriage for Teenagers (and their parents) (2015)
- Reformational Manhood: Creating a Culture of Gospel-Centered Warriors (2013)
And his writing has appeared at The Gospel Coalition, the Council on Biblical Manhood & Womanhood, Gospel-Centered Discipleship, the Journal on Biblical Manhood & Womanhood, The Washington Post, WORLD Magazine, Outreach Magazine, Answers Magazine, and more.
Greg is currently finishing a doctorate in leadership at Southern Seminary. He received a M.Div. in Biblical and Theological Studies from SBTS, and a B.A. in Biblical Studies from Boyce College.
And most importantly, he is married to Grace and is the proud father of Cora and Iver. They reside in Georgetown.
